He learned the ropes of the bounty hunting business and worked in his father's company, Da Kine Bail Bonds, together with his brother, Leland, and stepmother, Beth Chapman.

However, he left the show in 2012 over his clash with Beth over money.

Duane Lee claimed on camera at the end of the final season on A&E that he was being underpaid by Beth and overworked by Dog.

Was Duane Chapman Jr at Beth Chapman's funeral?

Beth Chapman died in June 2019 at the age of 51 after sadly losing her battle with throat cancer.

Duane Chapman Jr's brother Leland Chapman posted a photo of loved ones at Beth's memorial last year.

The caption reads: "I still can't believe she's gone. She would have been thrilled to see this. Family, friends, fans all coming together to honor her legacy. I want to say thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers for my family."

It continued: "I want to say thank you to everyone who helped put on and put together her beautiful memorial. I also want to thank my family for coming together and helping my dad and each other through this time. I know she's proud, so thank you again from the bottom of my heart."

Fans quickly noticed Duane's absence and wondered about his whereabouts.

Many were certain that he wouldn't miss such an important event.

Some thought he was one of the men kneeling in the photo.

Leland's sister Bonnie later clarified to fans, saying "no, he wasn't"

Who is Dog the Bounty Hunter?

Duane Chapman aka Dog the Bounty Hunter, 68, is an American reality TV personality best known for his successful capture of Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003.

The series follows Dog and his associates as they hunt for fugitives on the run.

After Dog the Bounty Hunter ended, he appeared in Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, alongside his late wife and business partner, Beth Chapman.

About eleven months following his wife's death, Dog was engaged to Francie Frane.

Frane, 51, is a rancher from Colorado. She met Dog after he reached out to Francie's husband Bob to do some work at his home.

Sadly, Francie had to break the news to Dog that Bob had passed several months before Beth.

Grief brought the pair closer, and they began dating soon after.

Dog told the Sun that he wants to have the "biggest wedding there's ever been" open to all his fans, in what he says will be "one hell of a party."

They moved in together earlier this year and kept their romance a secret, only revealing it to the public in March.

In May, Dog revealed he and Francie were engaged.

Many people criticized them for getting together so soon after Beth died, but his family sprung to his defense.

What is Dog the Bounty Hunter up to now?

Dog joined the nationwide search for fugitive Brian Laundrie, who made headlines after his fiancé, Gabby Petito, was reported missing in September 2021, and later found dead in Teton National Park.

Brian and Gabby went on a cross-country road trip together, and Gabby was reported missing after Brian returned with her van to his home, without her.

Brian is the sole person of interest in Petito's death, and authorities are on the hunt for him. Prior to vanishing, Brian refused to speak with authorities about Gabby's disappearance.

Dog claimed to gather over 1,000 leads in the case. One of them is that Brian and his parents visited Fort De Soto Park days after Brian returned home without Gabby.

Dog also claims that after the three of them visited the campsite, only two left.

Dog paid a visit to Brian's home, and it prompted his parents to call 911 on him.
