Or, do you want to remove current iCloud and use yours own without knowing password on iOS 9 and iOS 8? Keep reading on.
The main purpose of this guide is to remove the current iCloud and in turn disable Find my iPhone on the iPhone without entering a password. Please read this whole article carefully for more details.
The second most important thing you should know before proceeding is your iDevice, whether it is iPhone 6S, 6, 5S or 5, or it is iPod or you have got an iPad, should be jailbroken. If it is not, you can do it easily. If you don't want to jailbreak your iPhone, you can't get rid of iCloud credentials.
Thirdly, this whole guide is free. No hidden charges are included. No paid software is required. You can do everything on your iPhone free of cost.
Step by Step Tutorial for iCloud Removal on iOS 8 – iOS 9
Imp: Create a backup of your iPhone with iTunes before performing these steps.
Step 1: First of all, jailbreak your device. We have covered all the jailbreak tools for iOS 8 and iOS 9. If you are new to this world, start your journey of iPhone Jailbreaking from here.
If your device is already jailbroken, your are lucky.
Step 2: Launch Cydia, tap on "Changes" tab at the bottom and then on "Refresh". This step will load all the apps available in Cydia store.
Step 3: Now use the "Search" option to find "iFile". Install it on your device. It is a shareware program, meaning you can use it as long as you want to, but you can also purchase its pro version to get more advanced features. The basic version is sufficient for our this guide.
Step 4: Open the multitasking feature of iPhone by double-clicking the Home button and close all the apps running in the background. Apps are closed by swiping up the cards. This step is optional.
Step 5: Launch iFile and navigate to "/var/mobile/Library".
In this directory, you'll find many folders. For our job, two folders are important. The one is at the top of the list "Accounts". The other one is "ConfigurationProfiles" which you'll find when you scroll down a little bit.
Step 6: Open Accounts folder. There, you'll see three files.
Accounts3.sqlite
Accounts3.sqlite-shm
Accounts3.sqlite-wal
From here, you get two option. Either you can delete these three files to completely remove the iCloud account or you can rename these three files. If you rename them, you can later change the names of these files again and get the original iCloud credentials back.
If you want to delete them, simply swipe each file from right to left to delete.
You can also delete them all by using the Edit button at the top, select them all and then tap on "Recycle" icon at the bottom.
If you are interested in keeping the original information intact, tap on inverted exclamation mark (i) and then tap on Name. At the end of the file name, add any number and then tap on "Done". I usually add "1" at the end of these files to rename them. Rename all three files by this way.
Step 7: Now come back to the Library directory, scroll down and open "ConfigurationProfiles" folder. In it, you'll see "ClientTruth.plist" file, most probably the second file in the list.
Rename it, or delete it also.
Step 8: Go back to Homescreen and then restart your iPhone.
Step 9: When you come back, open Settings > iCloud. Wow, iCloud is vanished. The software will create new files in place of above-mentioned renamed files without filling any details in it.
Step 10: Add your own iCloud details, and voila.
Step 11: When you want to add the old iCloud details, simply delete the newly created files and edit the renamed files to their originals.
Summary:
- Backup with iTunes
- Jailbreak and install iFile
- Delete or rename all three files in /var/mobile/Library/Accounts
- Delete or rename "ClientTruth.plist" file in /var/mobile/Library/ConfigurationProfiles
- Restart iPhone
- Add own iCloud details
I tested it on my iPhone 6 and it works. Even the Find my iPhone also works. You can back up your data, including photos, with your own account, enable and disable Find my iPhone anytime, and check the location of your iDevice from another iPhone, iPad or from any PC.
Important: Currently I have only one jailbroken device, which is iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3.3. But this method works on all devices, including iPhone 6S, 6S plus and all iPad models.
So far I didn't reset / restore my iPhone with the fresh iOS version to know whether this method bypasses Apple's Activation lock or not. If you have an extra device and don't care about jailbreak, please could you confirm what happens when you install the fresh iOS version.
All those users who don't know the initial iCloud credentials (especially password) should never upgrade or restore their idevices till the confirmation, otherwise they will get stuck into activation lock process.
